OBIO/AKPOR HOLDS CHILDREN’S CHRISTMAS PARTY IN RUMUODAMAYA

Obio/Akpor Local Government Area on Saturday hosted a colourful Children’s Christmas Party at the Council Secretariat, Rumuodomaya, bringing joy, laughter and excitement to hundreds of children drawn from across the local government.
The event, which was organised as part of activities to mark the 2025 Christmas celebration, featured fun-filled games, music, dance performances and thrilling entertainment that kept the children excited throughout the programme.
A major highlight of the celebration was the appearance of Santa Claus whose presence lit up the venue as he interacted with the children and put smiles on their faces.
During the party, various gift items were presented to the children, further adding to the festive atmosphere and reinforcing the council’s commitment to putting the welfare and happiness of children at the centre of its programmes.
Speaking at the event, the Wife of the Chairman of Obio/Akpor Local Government Area, Mrs. Flora Gift Worlu, described children as the pride and future of society, noting that Christmas provides an opportunity to celebrate love, sharing and togetherness. She said this administration places great value on the wellbeing of children and remains committed to creating an enabling environment where they can grow, learn and thrive.
Mrs. Flora Worlu encouraged the children to be obedient, respectful and focused on their education, adding that they represent the hope of tomorrow. She also appreciated parents and guardians for their support and commended the organisers of the event for putting together a programme that brought happiness to the children during this yuletide season.
She further charged the children to always remember the true essence of Christmas, which is love, kindness and gratitude to God, while wishing them a joyful Christmas celebration and a prosperous New Year.
The event ended on a high note as the children danced, took photographs with Santa Claus and left with gifts, marking a memorable Christmas celebration at the Obio/Akpor Council Secretariat.
